Service Description

Prepare for birth with private childbirth ed and advocacy class that meets you where you are. This class is offered in person or virtually and can be completed in 2 sessions of 4 hours or 4 sessions of 2 hours, depending on your learning style, schedule, and preference for reflection time between sessions. We begin with an initial consultation to tailor the focus to your needs. Planning a home birth? We cover home-specific strategies, comfort measures, and birth team coordination, while also preparing for potential hospital transfers. Planning a hospital birth? We focus on navigating hospital policies, interventions, and provider communication while still teaching physiologic birth, natural coping techniques, and comfort strategies. The curriculum adapts to your birth plan, ensuring you receive more depth where you need it most and less where you already feel confident. What’s included: Access to the Birth Advocacy Toolkit 2.0 for ongoing support and planning Mindfulness, mental birth preparation, and confidence-building techniques Understanding the physiology and stages of labor Coping strategies, including natural comfort methods and medical pain management options tailored to your birth setting Labor positions and optimal fetal positioning to support labor progress and comfort Pushing techniques, expectations, and guidance for different birth scenarios Advocacy skills with hands-on practice and role-play to prepare for real-world situations Partner support guidance to empower your support person with practical skills Infant feeding basics, newborn care education, and postpartum planning Community resources guide (for local clients) to support ongoing care and guidance This class equips you with knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to advocate for yourself, make informed decisions, and feel supported throughout your birth and postpartum journey. It blends evidence-based education with hands-on practice, advocacy coaching, and real-life application. By the end, you’ll understand your options, how your body works during birth, and how to navigate any system confidently, whether your birth unfolds at home or in a hospital.
